Nicht nur Fremdkörper und Organe, auch Ideen sind verpflanzbar, nackt und für sich oder an Fremdkörper gebunden. Je nach Perspektive der Deutung kann das Fremde zum Eigenen werden und das Eigene zum Fremden. Entstellungen, ein "falsches" Geschlecht und technischer Ausbau verfremden den Körper und lösen Befremden aus. Gewachsenen Körperschaften erscheint Fremdes häufig als Fremdkörper, und der einzelne Mensch und ganze Kulturen können sich vom eigenen Körper entfremden, sogar das Ich selbst kann zum Fremdkörper mutieren, alles schwankt zwischen Selbstauslöschung und Selbstüberwindung.
